General description of the position:
The Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and organized experience for patients and visitors. This position involves greeting patients warmly, handling inquiries, and providing
and maintaining a high level of customer service in the medical center.
Key responsibilities:
- Politely greet all patients and visitors upon arrival.
- Provides accurate directions and information about the medical center's services and facilities.
- Supports front desk staff by coordinating visitor inquiries to reduce counter traffic.
- Actively listens to the patient's concerns and responds appropriately by demonstrating empathy.
- Keep the waiting room organized and clean, notifying the environmental department when necessary.
- Assist patients and visitors with special requests, such as mobility support or language assistance.
- Ensure that the information provided to the patient is accurate and properly documented in EMR systems.
- Standing for prolonged periods of time and reacting promptly to any situation that arises.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the director.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
